Dr Hagen Rampes is a Consultant Psychiatrist who is an experienced Mindfulness Teacher. He trained as a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher with leading experts in North America. He has experience of running MBCT groups, teaching MBCT one to one, and running mindfulness experience days in different settings. He has published articles on mindfulness. He is fully accredited as a Mindfulness Teacher and recognised by the UK Network for Mindfulness Based Teachers.
Dr Hagen Rampes BSc, MBChB, FRCPsych, qualified in Medicine from University of Edinburgh. He trained as a General Adult Psychiatrist. He took up his first Consultant Psychiatrist post in 1999 in London. He completed a Diploma in Evidence Based Healthcare from University of Oxford. He worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist and as an Associate Medical Director. He was involved in teaching medical students, training junior and senior trainees in psychiatry. From 2011 to 2014, he was appointed an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto in Canada and worked as a Staff Psychiatrist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program in Toronto. It was there that he met Professor Zindel Segal, one of the founders of MBCT and decided to become a MBCT teacher.
Dr Hagen Rampes has published widely in the field of complementary and alternative medicine in relation to mental health and more recently on mindfulness. He has been interested in Mind Body Medicine from his time at medical school. He undertook yoga teacher training whilst a junior doctor. Dr Hagen Rampes adheres to good practice guidelines of the UK Network for Mindfulness Based Teachers.
